Isolation & Proliferation Media

CnT-17; CnT-14 - Defined, PCT media which deliver maximum isolation efficiency and purity of human, mouse or rat airway epithelial cells due to the high retention of undifferentiated progenitor cells. CnT-17 offers excellent isolation and growth of both human large and small airway epithelial cells, while CnT-14 is optimized for rat small airway epithelium.

Differentiation Media

CnT-23; CnT-34 - Defined, non-PCT media. Intended for use in situations where cells are induced to differentiate, for example with calcium, for both 2D and 3D differentiation experiments.

As with all differentiation work, it is important that cells reach confluency before calcium levels are increased. Furthermore, and next to the addition of calcium, cells should also be switched to CnT-02, a non-PCT medium. For our recommended differentiation protocol, see our resources section.

These non-PCT media can also be used to establish 3D cell cultures of the airway epithelium - for more details, click here.

Applications From The Literature

Wound Healing in Primary Human Bronchial Epithelium: Milara et al., 2010.  Biochemical Pharmacology. Analysis of undifferentiated and differentiated cells, BrdU, migration (scratch assay), proliferation.

Serial cultivation of primary murine airway epithelial cells: Brockman-Schneider et al., 2008. Journal of Immunological Methods.  Optimal growth observed in CnT-17, as opposed to other commercially available formulations. Use of primary cells for the culture of human rhinoviruses.

Free Medium Samples

CELLnTEC is offering free samples to new customers who are interested to test the performance of our precision culture media.

Important Note: When testing your free sample, there are a number of important considerations. Please see our resources section for Media Testing Recommendations.
