With CELLnTEC's precision approach to media, large airway cells isolated in PCT media can also be used to form stratified 3D cell cultures.
As seen in the photos on the right, rat large airway cells (passage 2) isolated in specialized custom medium were seeded onto a semi-permeable membrane and induced to differentiate once confluency was reached (day zero).
After 20 days the model had developed into a multi-layered epithelium, and formed a distinct line of cilia (day 20).
Such lifted cultures can also be established using human tissue and the corresponding media CnT-17 / CnT-23.
