Press Releases
February 2010
Advances in corneal cell culture: recently papers have emerged describing the use of CnT-20 for the culture of primary limbal cells prior to transplantation, and also the use of CnT-50 and CnT-30 for the establishment of 3D corneal cultures. Please visit our corneal page for more information.
December 2009
Cancer Stem Cells: For the first time, CELLnTEC media have been used to isolate cells from primary tumor tissue. These cells were found to express both stem cell and tumor makers, and to self-renew in the long term when grown as spheres in low-adherence culture. Please click here for the paper.
November 2009
Starting immediately, CELLnTEC will begin to supply customers in the USA in partnership with ZenBio (www.zen-bio.com). For more information, please see the official press release here.
November 2009
From 2010, CELLnTEC will embark on a powerful new chapter in our development, which will expand our network of technical reps to support our customers, our service capabilities, and our investment in R & D of new 3D models. Official Press Release describing CELLnTEC's "2010-Plus" strategic plan can be found here (German and English).
October 2009
New Facilities: To meet the demands of our increasing numbers of product and service customers, CELLnTEC is moving to a new larger facility. The move will be complete in late October, and will also mean a change of phone and fax numbers. For new contact info, please see the contact page of this website.
September 2009
New Distributor System: In order to connect more effectively with our customers and improve supply of our products, CELLnTEC has implemented a new distribution system. Millipore will no longer be providing CELLnTEC products, and instead new distributors will be appointed in the USA, Europe, Asia and Pacific. For more information specific to your area, please see our ordering page, or contact us directly via email.
April 2009
CELLnTEC releases a new product: 3D Prime culture medium for the establishment of 3-dimensional epidermal in vitro models. Based on our previous 3D medium, the new medium enables faster and more reliable establishment of 3D models in just 14-16 days.
December 2008
CELLnTEC releases a new product: HGEP Primary gingival keratinocyte progenitors. Isolated in our specialized PCT medium CnT-24, these cells provide all the benefits of Progenitor Cell Targeting, including optimal marker expression, strong proliferation, and extended longevity in culture.
August 2008
CELLnTEC releases a ground breaking new culture medium, CnT-02-3D, the first developed specifically for the establishment of 3-dimensional epidermal in vitro models. Using this culture medium, along with our primary human keratinocytes, PCF inserts, and a proven protocol, researchers can now establish 3D epidermal models routinely in their own lab, to their own schedule, for a fraction of the price of ready-made models.
June 2008
CELLnTEC launches a new primary human gingival epithelial cell product, HGEP. Isolated in our progenitor cell targeted CnT-24 medium, these cells offer a range of benefits, including improved colony formation, marker expression, and in vitro longevity.
May 2007
CELLnTEC's new corneal media are compared with all other formulations commonly used for corneal cell culture by researchers at Baylor in Texas. the CnT media are found to offer the best isolation, growth, longevity and stem cell marker expression. See our corneal medium page for more details.
Feb 2007
CELLnTEC releases new primary human keratinocyte cultures, isolated in a PCT medium. These cultures are available frozen at the end of primary culture, and provide all the marker-expression, growth and longevity benefits of cells isolated and maintained in a PCT medium.
November 2006
CELLnTEC releases several new PCT low-BPE media, which provide all the progenitor cell retention benefits of PCT, combined with the early-passage growth boost of BPE. Optimal BPE concentrations are found to be 5-8 x lower than competitors.
July 2006
CELLnTEC's strong growth continues, with the number of unique website visitors per month increasing 100% during the 3 months from end March - end June. New media are released for Oral and Corneal epithelia.
April 2006
CELLnTEC media sales increase 65% over the proceeding year. A new PCT medium is released for Mammary epithelium.
March 2006
CELLnTEC signs an exclusive distributor agreement with Chemicon to serve our customers worldwide except Japan.
